Our Impact

Since the organization’s founding in 2014, Beautifully Flawed has evolved and reached over 400 girls via workshops and weekly programming,

Currently the organization is providing mental and emotional support to 20 high school students at no cost to students and their families. With your assistance we can continue to provide free mental. health services to students most in need.

By focusing on their emotional, mental, and social skill development participants report improvements in:

Self-Confidence

Awareness of Self and Community Resources

Academic Performance

New Supportive Friendships

Management of Mental Health Related Symptoms

Developing a Toolbox of Healthy and Effective Coping Strategies

As a group, students also give back to their communities by participating in at least three community service outreaches each school year.

Beautifully Flawed’s programming design is a research-based, tailored, and holistic approach to help students not just survive, but thrive. Various topics impacting mental and emotional health are covered such as, but not limited to:

Self-Identity, Self-Esteem, and Self-Worth

Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Other Mental Health Disorders

Protective Factors and Triggers

Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, and Impulse Control

Healthy Coping and Distress Tolerance Skills

Assertive Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills

Coping with Academic Pressures and Expectations

With your help Beautifully Flawed can positively impact more than girls and LGBTQ+ youth. We can address the following populations also:

Families

BF can begin to provide awareness to parents, guardians, and the general populous on crises plaguing young children and teens from an intersectional praxis. Families are given the support and tips on how to spark and engage in difficult conversations affecting the lives of young people. Additionally, BF connects families to a variety of services to assist them in overcoming the challenges they face within a changing culture and society,

Educators

The conditions and pressures educators and education administrators face make it difficult for them to address and adhere to every need, concern, and behavioral matters of their students while teaching curriculum, meeting academic standards, and fulfilling other necessary obligations. BF works to fill in the gap between what students need and schools can provide by offering additional support, training, and services to students, families, and educators.

Communities

The mission and vision of Beautifully Flawed helps elevate and empower communities-one student at a time. Our goals cater to the tangible and intangible needs of participants, families, and community members. In doing so, individuals are empowered to go forth and help serve others.

Beautifully Flawed Reviews

Before I started Beautifully Flawed I tried to be anyone else other than myself. I wanted everyone to like me, and in the process, I lost who I really was. I held on to all the negative things people have told me, started believing them, and my confidence decreased. I would put a fake face on in front of everyone and cry myself to sleep when I got home. Since I have been a part of BF I have learned it’s okay to feel, it’s okay to show emotions, and it’s okay to not be perfect. My friends in BF have become my family. They taught me there is strength in being and loving myself again, even if others don’t like it, because who I am is enough and valuable.
