What is the commitment for board member service?
We are proud advocates of healthy personal and work life balance. Board members officially meet every other month for 2 hours at an agreed upon time. All board members serve a two year term, but are eligible for re-election.
Given the small size of our organization, our board is a working board. Members are expected to commit both strategic leadership, governance, and hands-on support to help move the organization forward.
When should I expect to hear back from someone after submitting my application?
Thank you for your interest! Please allow 1-4 business days for a BF representative to follow-up with you after submitting your application.
Can board members engage in activities with program participants?
Board members play an invaluable role in making important decisions that affect the lives of those we support and the workflow of our team members. Therefore, we encourage board members to volunteer with those we serve during group outreaches or consider facilitating a workshop!
How can newly selected board members expect to transition into their new role ?
Board Member interviews will take place in February-March 2026. Board member applicants will be notified via email phone if they have been selected. Applicants will be invited to attend the next board meeting to ensure a successful transition. Newly elected board members will be sworn into office that meeting.
